Back at the Battleground

Monday night sessions cover Ground Fighting and while last weeks sessions took place in the ring and standing up against the ropes (because although its ground fighting they start standing up) this week the practise was all centred on the mat. Detailed attention was spent on escaping from almost impossible hold situations and turning that into an advantage position. I found it challenging because the gym is lit with fluorescent light and while ISO and Shutter Speed are ramped up these lads move very quick

John Shakespeare at the RBSA

I went to the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists gallery this evening. For a private view of the exhibition “Candidates”, this show is for artists hoping to be elected as Associates or Associates hoping to be elected as Members of the Society. As you can imagine the standard was very high but here is my favourite piece from the show:
Title: Handing in,
Media: Oil,
Price: £850,
Artist: John Shakespeare

When I showed it to my other half she said, “THAT’S NOT A PHOTOGRAPH”!! Your kidding.
Have a look at Johns work at www.jshakart.co.uk/
