Driving back from my dads tonight I noticed that the roads are very quiet and as I came to the small row of shops they too were in darkness apart from the chip shop, bright and welcoming for those on the last bus from town. Jump off and grab some fish and chips and eat them on the walk home.

By way of a touch of experimenting I parked myself on the local traffic island and took a load of pictures, originally I wanted to do a panorama view around the island but because of the huge differences in available light it didn’t work out. I concentrated then on smaller segments of the road and the vehicles wizzing round on a Friday night.

Here is the Number 2 bus which appears to be going the opposite direction round the island.

The world's largest commercial airliner came to Birmingham International Airport. The double-decker A380 super jumbo is capable of carrying up to 800 passengers and is claimed to be one of the most environmentally-friendly aircraft in the skies. The plane came in as a scheduled flight from Dubai. Emirates normally operates a smaller plane on the route, but agreed to replace it as part of a special day of events to celebrate the airport's 70th birthday.
My thanks to Darts commentator Sid Wardell for the headline, I thought if he can say that about darts I can about the worlds largest plane. It was an expensive photograph to take; the best viewing position is from the Long Stay car park it costs £1 to park there for an hour but so many people came to and photographed the plane there was a long jam to get out and it cost me £7.

I went down the Villa tonight for the first home game in the inaugural Europa League 1-0 down from the away leg we won 2-1 on the night but failed to progress in the competition because Rapid Vienna scored that all important away goal (which is worth double if the tie is drawn)
