General Election 2010

General Election 2010

When the General Election was announced I thought there would be some great moments to photograph but until today not even a defaced placard, it seems elections are now fought on different strategies than before. I’ve had phone calls from the candidates but no longer the site of them riding on the back of Land Rover convertibles sporting a huge rosette and shouting through a mega phones, and I haven’t seen any bunting, flags or leaflets stuck in windows, Until today: when I saw the Labour party candidate for Selly Oak (and current MP for Hall Green) Birmingham Steve McCabe (left) going from door to door campaigning.

Difference

Waiting at the traffic lights I noticed these four houses, at first it was the four different style roofs then I realized that there was more differences. This group would of began life exactly the same when they were built circa 1930s but through advances in building materials, different dates up upgrading and the different tastes and design requirements of the owners we have different windows, doors, cladding and even garden fencing evolving.
