Between Christmas and New Year a group of friends always meet up for a meal, tonight’s venue was the Black Eagle in Factory Road, Hockley, Birmingham, I had planned some time ago that the front of the pub would be the subject for 363. I thought it would make an even better photograph when the snow started to fall this afternoon, but on arrival at the pub my plans were dashed because someone had parked a huge van right in front of this beautiful traditional building. Then as I walked to the front door I noticed its no ordinary van because it’s both the transport and home for Pete one of my mates. Its an old 63 GMC that has all the creature comforts such as shower, washing machine, wood burning stove to keep him warm. Pete turned down an offer of £10,000 which is a substantial profit on his original investment but he wouldn’t sell because he would have to find another car and home. |
