It was the final home game of the first class cricket season today, I went with my grandsons and my camera, I was particularly interested in some photographs of the ground before the bulldozers move in for a major redevelopment. During the break we went to get food and drink and I found lots of impromptu games taking place under the grandstands, a mixture of rules, abilities and ages, all using huge rubbish bins for wickets. Nothing has changed from when I used to take part as a schoolboy when rain stopped play although we didn’t have our heros protecting us. |
