Another in my Famous Strangers project of people who are not the famous person but share the name. This lovely lady doesn’t think she looks good in photographs, can you believe that? We talked about my project and she introduced herself as Dawn French that was it I wasn’t going to let a famous stranger get away without a photograph. Dawn is an artist too she paints oils and copies famous art works especially by L. S. Lowry. Mix with that she does personal development courses for business people and says that her name definitely opens doors to more business.
For the benefit of anybody who doesn’t know the other Dawn French, the imposter is an English actress, writer, and comedian
When I was photographing people for the 100 Strangers project I found some of my models had famous names: Richard Burton, Paul Newman etc and I remembered one of my lecturers at Uni introduced himself as The Real Richard Burton the other is an imposter because Richard Burton the actor’s real name was Jenkins.
