No! Not Another WORLD CLASS Destination - Photo a Day Project

My initial experience of the Queen Elizabeth hospital was horrific. 6 months after it opened road signs pointed towards the old hospital I had to drive an emergency patient up one way systems the wrong way to get in. Whoever designed the hospital provided just outside A&E a wall where people could sit and smoke, there was no fence to prevent someone falling down a two story drop.

You approached what you thought was an administration window but couldn’t see if anybody was behind the window because of the reflective glass and then when you did find the right window you couldn’t hear/understand what was being said. In a 4 hour queue, nobody assessed if the person I was assisting was a life and death emergency when she eventually passed out I had to drag her into the section where all the medical staff worked. I then saw people on stretchers and wheelchairs in some kind of traffic jam almost colliding this remember in a brand new building, Why?

The medical staff were brilliant and treated both her broken ankles and then we had to book an appointment at the fracture clinic but nobody could give us a time (just turn up) and tell me where the fracture clinic was.

As I’m pushing the patient out to the car I saw a great big sign “Welcome To Your New World Class Hospital”
