Drifting from the Meeting

Birmingham Central Library

As artists we tend to see more than anybody because we are always looking for the great moment, colour, hint of sunlight, etc I find it impossible switch off. I was in a meeting at the Central Library in Birmingham and my vision passed the person in front of me to the window and beyond I was concentrating on the composition of a photograph and lost the conversation in the meeting, embarrassingly I asked for a rewind. I should add that the meeting was important and very interesting so it wasn’t as if I floated away on boredom

Poundland and Woolworths

In January 09 Woolworths Group plc entered administration and the administrators closed all 807 stores "Woolies" was famous for selling toys, children's clothing and “pick n mix” sweats during a 100 year period on the high street. The site of the old Kings Heath, Birmingham branch has been taken over by Poundland who’s bold signage sits next to the sad sign of Woolies.
