Narrow Boat Northern Pride

Narrow Boat Northern Pride

A few years ago I became very interested in blogging originally through a blog about a couple who retired and for the past 7 years lived on a travelling canal boat. There is a large community of Blogging Boaters who publish primarily to keep the family at home in touch with their whereabouts. Why am I interested in canal boats? No idea, don’t want one, never been on one and no intention of doing so

Last year I came across Barry and Sandra from New Zealand and their boat NB Northern Pride, they spent last year travelling around the north of England, got married (on top of the boat) then returned to New Zealand to save up and do it again, I caught up with them a few hours after they had collected Northern Pride ready to go off down south this time

Their blog is highly recommended reading not your usual well we went through this lock and moored up etc, no its like a living Lonely Planet or Rough Guide of the towns they visit and especially the museums. Sandra provides the text and Barry who used to be a professional photographer illustrates with some brilliant photos. http://nbnorthernpride.blogspot.com/

This Time Last Year:

Bournville Cricket Club

Right place right time, I stopped to photograph this beautiful sports area at the world famous Cadbury factory in Bourneville. While I was taking the shot the batsman reached 100 runs I found out that he has played for the Highway cricket club for many years and although he had been out many times in the nineties he had never scored 100. Appropriately the bells from the tower (in background) in Bourneville village were ringing out. I wish you could attach sound
