Owners of Britain’s 8 million dogs could face prosecution if they do not buy insurance for their pet

Tilly Thinks About Filling In all Those Forms

Under a new government proposals, UK dog owners would be forced to take out insurance to cover compensation payments should their pet be responsible for a violent attack. The owners of Britain’s 8 million dogs could face prosecution if they do not buy a policy for their pet. The proposal was put forward by the Government as part of a consultation, launched today, into plans to toughen the dangerous dog laws following a spate of savaging. Ministers have suggested that all breeds of dogs be covered by compulsory third party liability policies, and have asked whether owners who fail to take out insurance should be punished with fines or other sanctions.

You can imagine the topic of laughter and conversation while walking our dogs today. I don’t think I will bother along with everybody else I spoke to, I think its going to be impossible to police, and who ever came up with this idea hasn’t thought it through, yes these are the people who run our country.
