Love my football but I can never understand people getting out of bed on a cold Sunday morning to play. When I was young Sunday morning was for recovering from Saturday nights and football was played on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. My son asked me a few weeks ago to photograph his team, the thought of stirring from my bed that early is not pleasant but when he reminded me on the night before I felt even worse because we lost an hour going into British Summer Time I am impressed by the website Soccer Weekend which has details of teams matches in parks football across the country and you can even get a reasonable match report and information on all the players. www.soccerweekend.com |

I captured the rebuilding of the MAC (The Midland Arts Centre) (or the £14.8 million refurbishment) it was due to be reopened in the Autumn of 2009 and now the opening date is 1st May 2010 Every Saturday morning last year I took my grandson to his cricket coaching at Edgbaston and while he’s warming up I took Sally the dog for quick walk in Canon Hill Park over the road. Every Saturday between Christmas and the end of March I took this photo for the 365 project but it would always be superseded by another picture later in the day, (sorry but you missed out on some hardcore scaffolding). I decided on 28th March that I must use this shot because each week the outside of the building was getting close to completion and it was loosing the impact of the story. |
