Primarily because of the economic downturn and the ban on smoking in public places the pub industry is going through a testing time, there are other factors such as the pub overheads and the price of drinks that must be passed on to the customer so normally I pay £2.70 for pint (even £3.50) in a town centre pub but I could pay £1 for a little less (perhaps a gulp) than a pint in a off license. Here’s a pub that does well in fact one of the few in my area. I was thinking of starting a new project “This Used to Be a Pub” featuring McDonalds, Tesco supermarkets and Indian restaurants and thankfully this Irish pub wont be featured..for a while |
