Driving along the Inner Ring Road I had noticed this wall brightly lit up at night time I was always on the opposite side of the carriageway but tonight I decided to take a long detour take a u-bend and travel all the way back to investigate, I was curious to find out why a simple car park was floodlit in such a way that it stood out when viewed from the road. I found the beams are from the street lighting which because of the complexity of the approach to underpasses and exits requires stronger lighting and 50% of that energy is wasted on the empty car park. |
