Photos From Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Home Made From The Czech Republic

First todays Photo a Day is: Made From The Czech Republic

I went to see my friend Chris on Christmas morning and his partner Marie was there. She lives in the Czech Republic. I really enjoy it when she’s in Birmingham because she always brings or makes unique Czech food. I left the house with a box of home baked biscuits and cake, very sweet and very nice.

Muriel Marie and Chris

Muriel Marie and Chris

Went round to pop my card into my mate Chris his mom Muriel was there for Christmas dinner and Marie is partner from the Czech republic I didn’t stay long because their turkey was almost cooked and I was getting in the way of those last minute adjustments to get the vegetables and turkey to finish at the same time

Its Got a Red Thing That Pops Up When Its cooked

Christmas Day 02 A Red Thing That Pops Up When Its cooked

I’m not a great fan of turkey so we always have a large piece of beef, this is my friends turkey with all the flavour adding extras, the red dot like “thing” pops up when the turkey is cooked.

Christ Church Yardley Wood

Christ Church Yardley Wood

I normally like to go to Midnight Mass at Christmas but because of the bad weather I took my dad to church in the morning, this is the Church of England parish church here in Yardley Wood I find it strange that I live less than a 500 yards away yet apart from a Christmas card from the vicar with the times of services on once a year I would not be aware of its existence perhaps because I don’t have a need for a mother and toddler group or old age pensioners afternoon bingo session. To me the church doesn’t reach out to the community it serves.

Christmas Dinner

Christmas Dinner

In between visiting friends I went down to the park to take my daily photo for my sequence video. A couple of squirrels were eating food left for them on the wall and because I didn’t have the dogs with me I was able to get up close

Christmas Lunchtime Drink

Christmas Lunchtime Drink

Christmas is full of traditions and routines and one I really enjoy is a lunch time drink with my brother Rob (second left) and anybody else in the family (Tom my nephew on the left) and friends.

Bike On The Ice

Bike On The Ice

While walking the dogs on Christmas Eve I noticed a bike on the ice, it was very old and very rusty I took a few photographs of it there but deleted them from my camera. On Christmas Day there was a thaw and the bike fell through the ice.
