I was very pleased that my photograph taken down at the Edgbaston cricket ground was chosen for the local morning newspaper Flickr page. |

Photographs are submitted by posting to the Birmingham Post and Mail group and when I looked at the group discussions I came across one titled “The future of photography and the Birmingham Post” |

A “professional” complains about us amateurs working for the paper for nothing I didn’t bother getting involved, all I will say is that we on Flickr take different photos compared to those required by a news service and the paper is only adding a feature of one page that hardly interferes with many pages of specialist output. I looked at the persons web page and didn’t notice anything that any Flickr photographer couldn’t better if they had a press pass. |
