How to take a photo of the moon

31-365 year2 Wolla! Easy

I tried many times to achieve this with out success, this is the process

AF to centre

Camera on AV

Try F-stop f2/8 more likely f1/8

Press the Shutter Button half way and make a note of the Shutter Speed

Change the camera Mode to M use the same F stop adjusting the Shutter Speed a little lower than previous

Take the shot

Now you try doing that in the dark (because that’s when the moons out) no wonder I was getting nowhere until Sean Meets posted a moon shot on Flickr

and he told me:

Set the camera to TV Mode

Turn the shutter speed as high as you can

Wolla! Easy

Just heard the full moon isnt the best time try a little later and there is more shadow which gives more definition on the surface
